Aïsha Devi - DNA Feelings

είναι ο πρώτος στίχος της του νέου άλμπουμ της Aisha Devi, "DNA Feelings", τίτλος του ολοκαίνουργιου έργου τέχνης της, που κυκλοφορεί σήμερα από την Houndstooth, τίτλος που θυμίζει λιγάκι και την μυστικιστική και πολύ διάσημη ερώτηση: Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?. (Η απάντηση είναι ναι, όταν ακούν τη μουσική της Aïsha Devi.)

Η σύνδεση μεταξύ της μουσικής της Aïsha Devi και του κόσμου της cyberpunk είναι προφανής: οι ήχοι της είναι τόσο μεταφυσικοί, αιθέρια ανατολικοί, στους οποίους το πνευματικό και το υλικό, η μορφή / μη μορφή, το θέμα / ενέργεια αναμειγνύονται μαζί για να σχηματίσουν μία και μοναδική ουσία.

Η ίδια η δύναμη του ήχου της Aïsha Devi είναι ως επί το πλείστον η χρήση επεξεργασμένων, έντονων φωνών, που χρησιμοποιούνται ως ένα αρχαίο όργανο για μια τελετουργική τελετή που θυμίζει καταγωγή από Νεπάλ-Θιβέτ.

Το "DNA Feelings" δεν κινείται γρήγορα, κάνει το χρόνο να εξαπλωθεί αργά: μια αίσθηση/ήχος που χτίζεται με μια βήμα-βήμα, με συχνές σύντομες παύσεις από καθαρή σιωπή. Τα πάντα θυμίζουν την κίνηση της αναπνοής κατά τη διάρκεια ενός διαλογισμού: ηρεμία, συγχρονισμένη με τη φύση.

Στην πραγματικότητα, ο χρόνος είναι ένας πολύ σημαντικός πρωταγωνιστής αυτού του άλμπουμ, ο χρόνος είναι πολλά πράγματα: η αιωνιότητα, η πρωταρχική δόνηση, το μηδενικό σημείο και τέλος η ψευδαίσθηση της σταθερότητας.

Παρ' όλα αυτά, η - γεννημένη στην Ελβετία - καλλιτέχνης μπόρεσε να ανακαλύψει ένα συγκεκριμένο είδος "μυστικιστικής" club μουσικής, λέγοντας ότι "Τα Κλαμπ είναι οι νέοι Ναοί". Οπου το επίκεντρο αυτών των τελετών είναι το ίδιο το ανθρώπινο ον, η μουσική και η συνεπαγόμενη πάντα σύνδεση με τη φύση και κάθε μικρού ατόμου στο σύμπαν και το κομμάτι Time (Tool) αποτελεί σχεδόν ένα μανιφέστο αυτής της ιδέας.

Το "DNA Feelings" φαίνεται να είναι η φυσική εξέλιξη του "Of Matter And Spirit" (2015), ακόμα και αν τα δύο είναι πολύ διαφορετικά σε ήχους/ατμόσφαιρες είναι εξίσου πρωτότυπα και ισχυρά. Η τελευταία δουλειά φαίνεται πιο ώριμη και συνειδητοποιημένη με τη μεγάλη δυναμική της.

_Dogs smell DNA?

Is the first verse of Aïsha Devi's statement "DNA Feelings", which is also the title of her brand new piece of art, out on May 11th for Houndstooth, but it also reminds a little bit of the mystic and very famous question - Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? - (The answer is yes, when they listen to Aisha Devi's music.)

The link between Aïsha Devi's music and the cyberpunk world is obvious: her sounds are so metaphysical, ethereal oriental moans, in which the spiritual and the material, the form/the non-form, the matter/the energy are mixed together to form one and only substance.

The very strength of Aïsha Devi's sound is mostly the use of processed, highly pitched voices, used as an ancient instrument for a ritual ceremony that recalls her Nepalese-Tibetan heritage.

DNA Feelings is not immediate in timings, it makes time spread slowly: one sensation/sound is built after another, with very often some brief pauses of pure silence. Everything reminds of the act of breathing during a meditation: calm, synchronized with nature.

In fact, time is a very important protagonist of this album, time is many things: is eternity, the primal vibration, the zero point and lastly the illusion of solidity.

Nevertheless, the Swiss-born artist was able to re-invent a certain type of 'mystical' club music as, by quoting herself, "Clubs are the new Temples'.

What's the focus of this ceremonies is the human being itself, the music and an always implied connection with nature and every little atom in the universe and the spoken track Time (Tool) is almost a manifesto of this concept.

"DNA Feelings" seems to be the natural evolution of Of Matter And Spirit, even if the two are very diverse in sounds/atmospheres but equally original and powerful. This last work seems more mature and self conscious with its great potential.
